From the Historic District of Downtown Charleston. The Laurens-Rutledge House, circa 1760. It is a National Historic Landmark. The former Governor’s mansion. It is currently the luxuriuous “The Governor’s House Inn” with 11 bedrooms, 12.5 baths, 9 fireplaces, 13 foot ceilings, and spacious piazzas. The gardens were designed by famous charleston designer, robert Chesnut.
